  • The ROG Ace lineup, including the ROG Gladius IV Ace gaming mouse and ROG Swift OLED esports monitors, delivers greater customization and precision across gaming peripherals and OLED esports monitors, helping players optimize their setups for individual play styles.
  • ROG is strengthening collaboration with professional players and esports teams, incorporating feedback from partners such as Team Vitality and GamerLegion into product development.
  • Looking ahead, ROG aims to build a more collaborative esports ecosystem, bringing together players, teams, creators, and technology to shape the future of competitive gaming.

Gaming has become one of the defining ways people compete, create, connect, and express themselves. For anyone who has picked up a controller, joined a match after work, or stayed up for “just one more round,” gaming has always been about more than the game itself. It can be a source of competition, creativity, connection, or escape. That range is what makes gaming such a powerful part of culture today.

Esports has accelerated that evolution, bringing professional players, everyday gamers, creators, teams, fans, and brands into an increasingly connected global ecosystem. While the scale and stakes may differ, the underlying motivation is familiar: to play, push boundaries, and redefine the gaming experience.

What interests me most is what comes next. We are entering an important new chapter for gaming, and the opportunity is not simply to make games more immersive or competition more intense. It’s about rethinking the experiences we build around the player — from supporting competitive players with gear built for the realities of professional play, to working closely with teams to understand what players need at the highest level, delivering the precision, speed, and reliability esports demands.

Beyond specs: Rethinking gaming performance

As esports becomes increasingly professionalized, the definition of performance is evolving. Winning is no longer just about having the fastest hardware or the highest specifications. It is increasingly about how well technology fits the individual using it.

Every player has different preferences, from how they hold a mouse and position a monitor to how to how they set up their gear for competition. At the highest level, these details can make a meaningful difference. And as competitive gaming continues to evolve, I believe personalization will become an increasingly important part of performance.

This is the thinking behind the latest ROG Ace lineup. We’re moving beyond the idea that gaming hardware should be designed around a single definition of the “ideal” player. Instead, we’re looking more closely at how players compete and giving them greater control over the equipment they use.

The ROG Gladius IV Ace gaming mouse is one example. Developed with sports-science research and input from esports professionals, its ergonomic shape is designed to reduce muscle strain during competitive play, while customizable weight options give players greater flexibility to fine-tune how the mouse handles.

The new ROG Ace OLED esports monitors — including the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace, and ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace — extend this focus on individual preferences to the display, with integrated measurement scales and quick setting adjustments that help players fine-tune and consistently reproduce their preferred setup. As gaming becomes more competitive and more personal, hardware needs to adapt to the player — not the other way around.

The next generation of gaming technology won’t be defined simply by how much more powerful it is. It will be defined by how intelligently it can fit the person using it. In competitive gaming, where even the smallest detail can affect performance, players need to be able to trust that their gear will respond consistently and work with them, not against them. That is where personalization becomes important: giving players the ability to fine-tune technology to their preferences, so they can stay focused, stay sharp, and perform at their best.

Building gaming with the community

Esports is changing the relationship between players and the gaming industry. Competitive players are no longer simply the people using gaming products. They are also a source of expertise, feedback, and inspiration for how those products evolve. Around them is a broader ecosystem of teams, creators, fans, developers, and brands — each bringing a different perspective to gaming.

For brands, that creates an opportunity to move beyond traditional sponsorship. The most valuable partnerships are not about putting a logo on a jersey or placing a product in a player’s hands. They create a direct connection with people who understand competitive gaming from the inside.

Team Vitality is a good example of what this can look like. Through our ongoing partnership, ROG has worked with Team Vitality players to develop products such as the ROG Hone Control Ace L Vitality Edition mouse pad. Designed in collaboration with Team Vitality’s Counter-Strike (CS2) and VALORANT professionals, the mouse pad features a control-focused cloth surface designed to provide strong stopping power and consistent micro-adjustments, reflecting the demands of competitive play.

Our partnership with GamerLegion shows how sponsorship can become more closely connected to the realities of professional play. As the team’s official peripherals sponsor, ROG supports GamerLegion players with gaming mice, keyboards, mouse pads, and other esports-focused gear, strengthening the connection between ROG Ace products and competitive gaming.

And with Timothy “iiTzTimmy” An, we see another important perspective: the connection between professional competition, content, and community. As a former professional Apex Legends player and first-person shooter (FPS) creator, iiTzTimmy brings both high-level competitive experience and a strong understanding of what resonates with today’s gamers.  iiTzTimmy is working closely with ROG across content and product showcases, bringing his perspective as a high-level FPS player to the latest ROG gaming gear.  With a shared focus on performance and continuous improvement, the collaboration reflects how esports partnerships can extend beyond competition to include the wider gaming community.

These partnerships point to a broader shift in how gaming brands can engage with the ecosystem. The value is not only in reach or visibility. It’s in creating opportunities to listen, learn, and build with the people who understand gaming most deeply. For ROG, that means using player feedback and real-world testing to inform how products are designed, from working with professional esports players on advanced performance needs to testing products in different environments and scenarios. The result is a closer connection between the people who use the gear and the technology built around their needs.

The next step is to take co-creation even further—building on today’s collaborations and giving players, teams, creators, and communities a greater role in shaping future products and experiences. This will help brands understand gamers’ evolving needs more deeply, beyond what traditional sponsorships alone can achieve.

The future of gaming will not be built for the community from a distance. It will be built with the community — through an ongoing exchange between those who compete, create, and play.

The future of esports will be built together

If there is one thing the evolution of esports has shown us, it is that its future cannot be shaped by any one technology or company. It will come from the interaction between players, teams, creators, fans, brands, and the technologies that bring them together.

ROG’s commitment to esports brings together new products, partnerships with elite teams and players, and insights from the people who compete and create at the highest level. As esports continues to shape how gamers experience and expect more from gaming, these connections become increasingly important.

As ROG celebrates 20 years of pushing the boundaries of gaming, our opportunity is to keep looking ahead. Edition 20 reflects that mindset, bringing together new hardware, systems, peripherals, and experiences to envision where gaming can go next. Dare to Innovate means challenging what comes next and creating the technology and experiences that shape how the next generation plays, competes, creates, and connects.
