TAIPEI, Taiwan, January 21, 2026 — ASUS today announced the ASUS Chromebook CZ series of laptops tailored for K12 students, which offer a portable and durable design for enduring value and empower engaged learning — anywhere.
The ASUS Chromebook CZ Series, powered by MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor, features a 180° lay-flat or 360°-flippable design and an 11.6-inch (CZ1104C/F) or 12.2-inch (CZ1204C/F) 16:10 WUXGA display or touchscreen[i]. With TÜV-certified eye-care technology[ii], the series not only enhances the visual experience but also prioritizes eye protection. Supporting up to WiFi 7 and optional 5G connectivity, the series ensures smooth and uninterrupted performance both inside and outside the classroom.
ASUS Chromebook CZ series laptops are built for easy IT maintenance, with a modular design that minimizes downtime. The series boasts an extended battery life for uninterrupted use throughout an entire day of classes, empowering students to extend their learning beyond traditional limits.
A reliable study companion
For K12 students, an everyday-use laptop should be exceptionally durable. With lively and active users, scratches and knocks are an almost-inevitable part of their daily routine, so the ASUS Chromebook CZ series features an all-round rubber bumper for extra peace of mind. The laptops also feature a rugged design that's tested to meet or exceed the MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard, and use tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass[iii] to protect the screen from scratches. Additionally, the spill-resistant keyboard can cope with minor water spillsiv without harm, so minor splashes on the desk or at the dinner table can be easily drained, cleaned, and dried. Finally, the special fingerprint-resistant finishv keeps the laptop cleaner for longer.
Flexible and easy to use
The ASUS Chromebook CZ series laptops are equipped with either 180° lay-flat or 360°-flippable hinges to enable versatile usage modes. The clamshell models (CZ1104C, CZ1204C) facilitate easy group sharing, while the convertible models (CZ1104F, CZ1204F) support versatile usage modes including laptop, tent, stand, and tablet — or anything in between. Group discussions and class sharing have never been easier.
The large 11.6-inch or 12.2-inch touchscreens with garaged stylus support[vi] improve productivity and are comfortable for the students, with low blue-light levels to protect their eyes. Equipped with up to WiFi 7 (802.11ax) and optional 4G LTE or 5G connectivity, along with 8GB LPDDR4X Memory and 128GB eMMC storage, students can enjoy an efficient learning environment and use the laptop anytime and anywhere. The 5MP world-facing camera[vii] empowers students to explore their surroundings, capture photos, and record videos when in tablet mode.
Enduring capabilities for constant learning
MediaTek's Arm®-based architecture ensures lower power consumption, allowing constant studying and video-watching without interruptions. The MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor provides greater processing power with 16% faster multitasking speed[viii]. It enables faster processing for coding or using popular STEM apps like Minecraft Education Edition, while allowing up to 19 hoursix of battery life. The ASUS Chromebook CZ series has a highly portable design starting at 1.28kgx, giving students a choice of durable laptops that can be used anytime and anywhere.
All-round protection
The ASUS Chromebook CZ series is optionally protected by ASUS Antimicrobial Guard[xi],[xii] technology, a surface coating on the keyboard area, one of the most-touched parts of the laptop. The coating contains positively charged silver ions, which are attracted to negatively charged microbial cells. Upon contact, the silver ions pierce the cell surface to damage the structure and inhibit reproduction.
To provide maximum protection for students' eyes, the 16:10 WUXGA displays provide enhanced visual experiences and high-quality colors, and is TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light levels.
Easy to maintain, easy to connect
The ASUS Chromebook CZ series is designed to make deployment and maintenance as simple as possible. The modular design allows technicians to rapidly replace and upgrade the key hardware components, ensuring less downtime and more learning time. Anti-drop captive screws on the underside eliminate worries about losing these little parts during repair. Additionally, the supported Chrome Education Upgrade[xiii] ensures multi-layer security, automatic updates and streamlined deployment.
Students can easily connect to any available peripherals thanks to the comprehensive set of I/O ports, including two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C® port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI® 1.2, an audio combo jack, and a Kensington Lock slot.
