TAIPEI, Taiwan, March 18, 2026 — ASUS today announced that it had hosted the AI CITY International Forum, a premier event that brought together global industry leaders and representatives from international cities. The event highlights comprehensive sovereign AI computing architecture, net-zero sustainability, and smart energy management, showcasing ASUS’s integrated capabilities and technological leadership in the AI City domain.
The forum was kicked off by Samson Hu, ASUS Co-CEO and Chairman of the Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance (TSSA). In his opening remarks, he emphasized: "Artificial intelligence is fundamentally redefining how cities operate. The conversation is no longer just about connecting infrastructure or digitizing services. We’re witnessing the rise of the AI City — a new paradigm of urban development where intelligence is embedded across governance, infrastructure, and everyday services."
Samson was joined by representatives from Taiwan AI Cloud and the ASUS AIoT Solution Business Group, with insights focused on sovereign AI innovation and practical experiences in urban transformation. Peter Wu, CEO of Taiwan AI Cloud, highlighted Taiwan's sovereign AI innovation, analyzing how localized computing resources and model platforms ensure data security while accelerating innovation. Albert Chang, Corporate Vice President and Co-General Manager of the ASUS AIoT Solution Business Group, shared practical strategies for driving urban sustainability through data intelligence. Albert detailed how ASUS uses smart management to reduce carbon emissions and enable environmental monitoring, fundamentally enhancing urban governance.
