Samson leads corporate operations and innovation of products and services. Working in close tandem with S.Y., he plays an integral role in carrying out the 2035 ASUS Climate Action Goals, building sustainability and social responsibility at every level, implementing digital transformation, and fostering a passion for innovation among ASUS team members around the world.
Since his joining ASUS in 2001, Samson’s leadership has guided numerous projects that employ Design Thinking, building users into the innovation process to ultimately empower them. Most notably, the introduction of the Transformer Pad created an entirely new category of 2-in-1 devices in the market. Samson has further extended user-centricity to ASUS customer service, which he has transformed to continue bringing delight to consumers worldwide even long after a purchase. In recent years, the dedication of both co-CEOs has led ASUS to record heights of financial growth and strengthened engagement in Environmental-, Social-, and Governance-related endeavors — such as ASUS joining the renewable-electricity initiative RE100.
Today, Samson is leveraging data-driven user insights and ASUS core competencies to spur new growth, build strategic alliances and partnerships, and initiate new business models — particularly ones in which sustainability drives innovation and in which integrated software and services complement products. These endeavors are generating new opportunities that ensure ASUS is well-positioned in the long term to deliver incredible experiences for people everywhere.
Always relishing a challenge, Samson spends his leisure time playing sports such as badminton and golf. To relax and reflect, he enjoys venturing out to explore scenic landscapes on foot.
Samson holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Taiwan’s National Cheng Kung University, a master’s degree in computer engineering from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (formerly National Chiao Tung University), and an Executive MBA from National Chengchi University in Taiwan.
