Five outstanding management achievements

In this assessment, ASUS demonstrated outstanding performance across the five key aspects of sustainability, leading to the attainment of the ISO 20400 certification.

  • Sustainable governance: ASUS sets mid- to long-term targets to measure sustainable procurement performance, and reinforces cross-departmental connections through its ESG Committee and Business Continuity Management Committee.
  • Climate action: With clear carbon reduction strategies and targets, ASUS has obtained SBTi validation for its emissions reduction goals. The company launched the world’s first commercial laptop with both carbon footprint and carbon neutrality verification (ExpertBook B9) and became one of the first companies to receive the EPEAT Climate+ Champion, validating the company’s transition to a low-carbon supply chain.
  • Responsible manufacturing: ASUS conducts thorough audits of suppliers based on high-risk indicators and incorporates low-carbon performance into quarterly business reviews, implementing Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) audit management.
  • Digital transformation: ASUS developed its ESG Carbon Data Management Platform to establish a trusted mechanism for carbon data.
  • Unified expansion: ASUS expanded its sustainability management scope at the group level, aligning with the scope of its consolidated financial statements and launching practices in group carbon management, RBA audits, and sustainability reporting structures.

Creating sustainable value

ASUS received the world’s first SGS ISO 20400 with a four-star (Advanced) rating in 2019. Since then, the company has continued to evolve its systems and management practices, including formulating clear, sustainable procurement policies and guidelines as well as integrating cross-departmental workflows. It also enhanced supplier audit coverage and linked supplier performance to procurement decisions. Additionally, the company strengthened its internal ESG culture through topic-based training programs and ultimately achieved a five-star rating this year. ASUS will continue to implement digitized data and scientific management practices further, working with its supply chain to create long-term sustainable value.
