First-ever overseas medical software certification is granted for the ASUS blood pressure app, strengthening ASUS’ commitment to the Southeast Asian health market
BANGKOK, Thailand, December 9, 2024 — ASUS today announced that the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand (FDA Thai) has certified the ASUS VivoWatch blood pressure app (Thailand FDA no. 67-2-2-2-0009328), marking a significant milestone for ASUS smart healthcare in the Southeast Asian market. Fully developed in-house, this achievement marks the first overseas medical software certification for the ASUS blood pressure app. For the past decade, ASUS has focused on smart healthcare technology R&D and has worked to meet relevant standards for medical devices in various global markets.
“We are excited to bring our innovative health management solutions to the Thai market,” said Joe Hsieh, Chief Operating Officer and Global Senior Vice President of ASUS. “This certification from the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand is a testament to our dedication in creating reliable and effective health technology that empowers users to take control of their health.”
The ASUS blood pressure app is the first independently-developed health wearable blood pressure monitoring solution that's been approved by the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration and works with supported ASUS VivoWatch models. The app allows users to record, store, and display blood pressure readings, including systolic and diastolic pressure as well as heart rate. The blood pressure measurement function is expected to be available to ASUS VivoWatch 6, VivoWatch 5, VivoWatch 5 AERO, and VivoWatch SP users in Thailand by the end of the year.
ASUS is collaborating with renowned high-end health examination centers and elderly care providers in Thailand to create an innovative digital healthcare services model. ASUS VivoWatch will be used by health examination centers to collect long-term health data of the elderly, enabling the development of personalized health management plans and promoting remote care.
ASUS has also established successful partnerships with major hospitals in Taiwan, where the company has focused on mobile health (mHealth) and continuous physiological monitoring features.
